Default 68 quarter ornament

Anyone have any experience installing these? I just got mine in the mail and am going to install them. The ornaments came with these funky little pressure clips. Looks like you put them through the hole in the body and then put the base over the clip and then put the ornament post in the middle of the clip. I'm wondering if that sounds right. Doesn't seem like this would work, not enough pressure to keep from rattling out. Anyone have any good advice?

Thanks for the help everyone!!

Which one do you have?

I have the top one and IIRC it uses a stamped nut.

The quarter ornament is the fake brake vent thingy just behind the door. Pictured in your post are marker lights. (btw, CA Specials and Gen 1 GTs have no ornament, but side scoops instead)

You have to remove the rear quarter window regulator in some models to reach the ornament pins from the inside. It's a bitch, but that's because this part was never really meant to be replaced. Not impossible, but certainly not a 10 min job. If there's no gasket, apply some silicone to the back of the ornament to seal it tight or it will rattle in time, and water will eventually seep into the pin holes. I believe these cars originally used a little black silicone on ornaments, badges and letters near the pins except the side view mirrors which had rubber gaskets.
