Finding a driveshaft??
Hello, I have a 67 mustang that i bought. it originally came with no engine, no tranny, no driveshaft and no exhaust piping. i have a 302 that im putting in as well as a '95 t-5 transmission (approx. year), now i just have to find a driveshaft to connect the tranny to the differential.
Im pretty sure there is someone more educated on the subject that can help me. I know i can buy an original driveshaft and buy a t-5 conversion yoke, however, would it be possible to just get a driveshaft from a newer car with that t-5? Would it even match up? Thanks for the help! --David

The T5 conversion will make the drive shaft shorter than stock by about an inch. I don't know of any stock application that will work for that. I got mine from the Modern drive line web site. It was about $200. You will need to know Ujoint size when you order.

see if it's a first before you start cutting driveshafts. i put in a 9" rear axle, the T5 and a dtriveshaft from a 66 automatic with a T5 yoke. i wouldn't want that shaft any shorter.
sometimes you have to chop, sometimes you don't. from what i know it seems to depend on the color of the car ...
anyway any 67-68 (maybe even others) drivesshaft from a mustang that was a V8 should do.
i got mine from ebay but i wish I would have just ordered a measure to fit from dennys.
will do that later down the road.
you definetly should get new u-jouints front and back while you're at it. u-joint measuremetns is a science on its own. most ford v8 applications are spicer 1310 type.
length over axis 3.25" and the cup diameter is either 1-1/16" or 1-1/8"
you need to get your vernier calipers out and measure ...
check on the exact year of the T5 to be sure it'll fit
