If you really want a very stiff ride, then 5 leaf in a mid-eye will give you what you want.

im not driving the car hard now but maybe when it becomes a more solid car i will.

i wouldnt mind spending an extra 50 bucks for a better spring for the long run.

I'd recommend 4.5 leaf. 5 leaf springs are very stiff, and better suited for track use.

OE ride height would be standard eye. Keep in mind, the OE ride height is rather tall, and if you still have original springs you're probably sitting quite a bit below that.

+1 I have 5leaf mideye. It's not stock height but looks the business. The wheel matches nicely into the arch. looking good I find. and hell yes ya. that's stiff. If I ever had to do it again I'd get the 4.5 leafs. Seller in Germany just didn't have them in stock ...

yeah i see what your saying, yeah i have stock springs from 67 right now.

so reverse eye and mid eye are lower? id rather be at stock hieght. since the plans are to put 17s on eventually. but id rather be to high then rub.

Standard eye is stock ride height, mid eye is about 1" lower and reverse eye is around 1.5-1.75" lower. 5 leaf is gonna be freaking STIFF. 4.5 leaf with a good shock can still be rather stiff. I wouldn't run 5 or more unless it were a track only road racer.

17's aren't a problem, especially in a '67, as long as you get the right backspacing. A mid-eye spring will tuck the wheels up into the wheel wells nicely.

Leaf springs aren't going to affect header clearance.

If you're planning on changing the front springs, get the mid-eye leafs for now. 1" drop springs in the front will level out the suspension down the road.
