Default 1971 302-164 tooth flywheel question

my starter ate up my gears. and its progressed to the point that my car wont start 80% of the time.

so its time to fix it, i see that they have ring gears? is this all i need ($17) or do i need a whole new fly wheel

you can replace just the gear, but a machine shop will need to install it

+1. every machine shop should be able to do that for you

if you go for that make sure your starter and gear are good. might be wrong starter or something maybe ? something must have caused that problem
