heater water valve question
The previous owner, for some reason or another, removed the vacuum heater valve and replaced it with a manual valve.
Picture:

I found the correct vacuum valve, but I need to know where to mount it.
Valve
Does anyone have a picture or diagram that shows where to put it?
Thanks,
Allen

As you can see, my 65 does not have a cut-off valve for the heater anywhere on the firewall. Did you guys get some sort of cut off valve on the firrrewall in later years? The only way I can contol the hot water coming into my heater box is with the heater controls inside the car. Maybe that was an add-on to keep the hot water from coming into a leaking heater box.....
Soaring, I know the later years like 67's have one on the outside. Thats what controlled the hot coolant from entering the heater core. When opened the coolant would flow through giving you heat. I believe yours and mine must be in the heater box or under the dash somewhere. I know our 67 ford truck is outside, and my dads 67 stang might be, but it has factory ac and might be different.
Oh, OK....I built a 29 Mercedes kit car back in the 80's and put that cut off on the firewall because I had no way to control the hot water going into the heater box other than that. But, I thought all Mustangs had heater control switches inside the car. [sm=dontgetit.gif]
