C'mon guys, I'm SURE that moving something that weighs less than .003% of the car's total weight will help..........LMFAO!!! Sorry, I could hold that in. Move the radio, that's a good one!

I should have worded that better. I thought about moving the radio to the glovebox. Also lowering the mustang all together.

radio in glovebox is a bad idea. impossible to operate while driving.
I think adding 50HP is a better idea then shedding 50 pounds of weight making scrap out of your car

I can't really think of anything else to do to the engine besides get a 250 head and port it. Places want too much for the aluminum head.

Then do that, and look for a T5. I6's love T5's.

You could even pull a 300 motor out of a pickup and see what you can do with that. I bet you could find several at any junkyard. Those things are torquey buggers. My and my friend used to pull out buried trucks in his 300-powered F150 out at the local dunes.

There is one in craigslist for $300 and it needs a rebuild. I want a 300 or a 250. Both will have hood clearance problems, but the 250 is a sbf bellhousing so the T5 would bolt right up.

Fiberglass bumpers
Fiberglass fenders
Fiberglass hood
Fiberglass trunk
Strip the undercoating from as much of the car as you can
Aluminum heads and intake manifold
Lighter wheels
Ligther brakes
and there is always the driver diet weight reduction if applicable.

I am going to order Cragar V-5s tomorrow if I don't find any rims that I like. They look light weight compared to the ponys I had on it.
