What is the timing set at, I put a 5.0 and carb with crane dizy,
run but no power.

Try 14 at idle and around 34-36 total.

 

the old rule of thumb = advance it until it starts to ping going uphill, then back it off a few degrees.

 

I will give it a try, Also the AOD shifts to early,
I have moved the TV cable in and out but can not find the sweet spot.
**Will the use of the 289 timing cover and a new HB with three sets of numbers work, I use the outer most nunbers that seems to line up with the pointer.**
