Default Mustang Project's New Ultra Bright LED's

OK, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the "New" kit for the 67-68 cluster with the 5X Ultra Bright LEDs. I also was wondering what color people have used and what they recommend. I want it to look bright but not going for a ricer-ish/too modern look. I was thinking of going with white, but it recommends using without lenses. Has anyone used the white with the lenses?

Thanks in advance!

I put the LED's in my '66 because I got sick of not being able to see my gauges at night.

They are brighter, but the gauges at the far end of each side are still a little hard to read at night just because of the way the lights are built into the cluster. Guess the one down side is you cannot dim your gauge lights but I never did that anyway so it was at most a small trade off.

I went with the blue ones and they look cool. Even my boys at 7 years old noticed it the first time we went somewhere at night after I had installed them...they really thought they were cool :-)

I decided against the cluster LEDs since I don't drive enough at night. I'm not a fan of the colors available in UB - White, Green, and Blue.

avoid blue for gauge lights as it tends to fog vision when reading.

I just used Testor's model paint in Florescent red, worked great.

FYI....I bought the RED paint off of Ebay. Be aware that the bottle is VERY VERY SMALL. Probably only enough to do 5 needles depending on coverage.

mustangprojects blow for the price

hipoparts.com offers their 5x brighter kit and you can dim them they sell on ebay too with a 100% feedback rating

p.s. white is fine you don't have to remove the lenses or if they mean the stupid little green caps then yes break those things off because they are probably melted anyways

the biggest improvement you will see is by trimming the flanges on your gauges. I trimmed mine and can actually see the far left and right gauges at night now
