Electrical Help - Blinkers...

Default Electrical Help - Blinkers...

Hey guys, need help where to start on investigating my electrical issues. My blinkers are not working. My brake lights DO work though, my dash lights work, and my headlights work.......what are the possible problems minus the obvious bulb and fuse? Thanks any help woudl be GREATLY appreciated...

you might to check the blinker switch assembly behind the steering wheel i know mine was torn up!

Yeah, try the flasher first, they go out from time to time. Then check the switch in the column.

check the connection from the bottom of the steering column. i know when i bump mine sometimes the blinkers and horn dont work.

Hey Guys, thanks for your input, i have been fiddling with things over the weekend and I never thought to try the hazards, but I did try them and they work perfect! So if the hazards work perfect, the problem has to be pretty easy to find since they are both controlled with mostly similar parts...what do you guys think it is now knowing that the hazards work?

Probably the flasher, there's a different flasher for the hazards and turn indicators, try taking the one from the hazards and putting it on the turn signal location, if the turn signals work then it's the flasher, they're like $2.50 at the auto parts store I think.

Can't find the flasher unit....I just spent 15 minutes upside down poking around...am I blind, or is it hidden???

You have to really reach up under the dash, factory location is on the brace behind the dash, sort of tucked up on it in retainer clips. You almost have to be a contortionist to get to it.
