Default Building Dynacorn '67 Fastback

Hello, I have been lurking here for quite some time and finally decided to register. I am thinking about building up a Dynacorn '67 Fastback and I am having trouble estimating the total cost [save the engine] of such an undertaking. Do any of you have any idea? My closest estimate came to ~$25k, does that seem about right?

You can hit that number only if you buy a donor 67 fastback and do the paint yourself. You will be surprised at how many little parts and brackets you will have to find and how much they will cost.

isnt the shell itself 16k? a good paintjob is going to cost 4-5k and shipping it isnt going to be cheap either

i would say closer to 35k if you are planning on buying all new parts

I'd shoot closer to 35k also, not including the engine, if you do all of it yourself. If your taste in parts is a little higher, so will your price tag. ie, rims tires/paint.

Thanks! I was hoping it would be under $50k. Yeah, if I am going to build my dream car, I am doing it up right. So all new parts and definitely nothing thats not top of the line. The engine will be the last project so I am not figuring it at this time.

I would say that you should be able to build pretty much whatever you want for 50k, including the engine

id say your best bet to save on cost and even to know what parts your missing is to buy a cheap 67/68 fastback for a few grand, that way you can pull what parts you need off that car and also know what parts your missing by comparing to the donor

You'll need a fastback anyway for the title unless you title it as a kit car. Although I'm not sure about the whole legal issues involving swaping the vin #'s.

I say 50k is a real number in the end.
