i was thinking there was a guy doing it to a 67, which has a wider engine bay than the 65-66 cars, so i won't have to cut the shock towers thankfully. i've got everything disconnected (except the DS and trans stuff) from my 85.5 merkur today did it in about 2-3 hours. i must say they put a bunch of useless crap in that car more reservoirs than i've pulled from any car before... wiper rez, extra coolant rez, overflow rez, PS rez, AC rez (to catch the condensed water wtf i know).
once i get my hoist the 302/ C5 will be coming out of the 67 and onto a stand. then the 2.3t will have custom solid mounts and be mated to the C5 (c4 with better cooling) it will be mounted with poly mounts to absorb the shock from the engine. initially i will just be getting everything in and running and then swapped to a 9" with 33/35spline's with a 3.55 gear. then put front discs possibly some fr500 chrome rims and then i think i'll be putting new edge interior into the car and outfitting a retro dash as well.

I rebuilt "EVERYTHING"! I had to cut the shock towers out to get the 2.3 turbo in there. The 67 and up mustangs have a wider engine bay and you can put one of these motors in them without cutting anything. If you go to this web site you can see the whole build. There are over 600 picture of the build there.

I have seen a few 67 with the 2.3 in them. But as far as I know, and I have looked all over the internet for the passed 3 years, I am the only one that has put one in a 64-66 Mustang. There was a 67 with a 2.3 turbo in it on ebay 5 or 6 months ago.

googled it and finally found it. I searched for it yesterday and couldn't find it.
