Default 69 Fastback question

Hey folks,

new to the site. i've been restoring a 69 fastback. if somebody in here has a 69, or knows where i can get some good info, i'd appreciate it. my question is this:

on the "fastback" portion of the car, there's supposed to be the running pony medallion things...which i have. BUT- one side of the car has the posts where they clip on, and the other side has two holes drilled, where the previous owner must have planned on putting in new posts. the problem is that the locations don't match up. i don't know which set is the correction position. the driver's side is about an inch higher than the passenger's side. thanks in advance.

If the one that's still there is mounted on the welded-on "T" posts, that look like nail heads, then that's right.
