Default new front end

so after removal of the fenders of my 66 and further review, plus the help of a friend, ive come to the conclusion that the front end of my car is all new, its really flimsy in parts, my buddy who is an auto body guy said its pretty common to replace the front end with aftermarket stuff from over seas, and its not strong enough by itself, anyone know what im talking about or have any imput?

I'm confused...you removed your fenders to look at your front end? (front end to me is defined as suspension/steering/braking/etc)?

I agree with Nick. What front end parts are you talking about? You don't have to remove fenders to take a look at your front end parts. What exact parts are you talking about?

I under stand now.

Keep in mind all the steel is flimsy 'by itself' its the tying it all together in the unibody that gives it strength.
Plenty of cars are rebuilt using oversea repro steel and are just fine. The biggest problem has always been fit, but it seems like someone has already installed the parts and done the fitting.

Having the engine compartment square isn't that big of a deal. The important measurement is at the frame rails, measure corner to corner in an 'x' from driver side front rail to passenger side rear rail, and then flip. These measurements should be within a very close tolerance of each other and it will tell you if the car is straight.

I've never thought of that. I'm going to check my own frame out tomorrow.
