Default Electrical. Year or Engine

Okay my question is this. The car has what seems to be the original wiring harness, its extremely beat up so I need to replace a few areas. If I wanted to buy aftermarket wires for the engine gauge harness would I go with the engine year or the wiring harness year? Also could I do this myself without buying the harness with parts from NAPA or any electrical store?? PLEASE NOTE I CAN NOT AFFORD A COMPLETE HARNESS.

I did a complete rewire on the car. I bought most of the stuff from Lowes and a local electrical shop. I got basically traced all the wires and duplicated them. I hate electrical but was in a tight budget and it really needed to get done. If I could do it, anyone can!!

Nice! What did you use for the terminals? I need those 90degree ones that the starter solenoid uses for my temperature and pressure gauges.
IF i wanted to make this what terminals would I need?? http://www.superiormustangparts.com/...d=C9ZZ-14289-6

I converted to the spade fuses instead of the glass. I used the 14 fuse block:http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...tt=fuse+blocks
and the 8 fuse block. The 8 for constant power and the 14 for switched. I used the regular female and male spade connectors that I got at an electrical shop. They were the insulated ones. To connect to the factory stuff like the one you pictured, you can get the butt connectors, female and male, and put 20 bucks in your pocket. I was really scared to do the electrical too but once I did it, no sweat. Through these years, I've done it all so I figured electrical was next. You need help, we'll be there for you!!!
