Default I6 EFI setups?

I have my 68 I6 for about 2 years, since i got it there have always been fuel issues, I had the original carb rebuilt and managed to tune it to where it was running smoothly but by no means do I really know how to tune a carb well. I got my fastback now so I passed the I6 on to my younger brother who knows absolutely nothing about carbs and once again we're having fuel issues. I've seen tons of EFI kits for 8 cylinder setups, but what about straight 6's? Are there any kits out there? If so are they reasonably priced? I've never done an EFI conversion before and am no expert at wiring, has anyone done this or have experience with this? Does this seem like the right route to go? I live in New York so it's more cold than hot here and frankly I'm just tired of having so many fuel/carberuation issues. Firing up for ten to fifteen minutes before being on my way has gotten way too old. As always thanks for any advice offered by the fine minds here.

There are kits out there, but I don't know the company. I was told by a fellow mustanger that a company was at the 45th show and they were selling I6 EFI setups.

Only forum that I know that might know a site is www.fordsix.com They have their own fuel injection section and you should be able to ask there.

you could build a megasquirt and tune it for your car. they're pretty easy to assemble. the setup isn't too bad either. the hardest part is figuring out a throttle body. I was planning on using one from a doge caravan for a different car–that's probably about the right size for an I6.

You can get a throttle body EFI that bolts on instead of the carb for almost any car.
An I-6 may need a 4 barrel manifold or adaptor though.

Personally, I would just put a new Edelbrock carb on there. A small 4 bbl with 4 bbl manifold
would make it scream, especially with a better flowing exhaust.
Modern gas additives is what's killing the old carbs because the non-metalic parts
are not compatable with it. The rebuild kits just have the same old style gaskets
so in 6 months-1 year they fail too..
Edelbrock says their new carbs are compatible with modern gas. My Edelbrock Performer has been running great for over 2 years now, with drivability is almost as good as EFI
(and no adjustments).

I believe you would just need a 2bbl adapter after buying a kit.

I think some of the larger 6's from the 80's were EFI(300cid I6 truck engines). You could try a swap from one of those, but it might need a bit of fabrication to adapt it.

I don't think that would work. A 200 is a small block and the 300 is a big block.
