Default Tranny Trouble

For starters the car I'm gripping about is my mom's 68 coupe w/ 289 and c-4 auto. What it's doing is when you put the car in reverse after it's warmed up it feels like it's in neutral and doesn't go into reverse for 5 seconds, sometimes longer. If you give it some gas it goes into gear faster, but bangs into gear. This problem only happens after it's been driven not when it's first started up and not warmed up. And yes the fluid level is fine.

You have internal trans issues. You can try a can of trans fix, but i'm thinkin' your going to need a rebuild here shortly

How do you adjust the bands? I think I'll try the cheap stuff first. Reverse is the only gear givin me trouble. Could the vac. modulator be going bad?
