Default '68-69 Fastback

Hey, I'm new to the site..

I'm looking for a '68-69 Fastback to convert into a GT500. I want to swap for a new, high performance engine.. Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone knows of a project Fastback for sale, please let me know..

Thanks!

You do know those are two entirely different body styles, right?

I'm sorry.. I though Shelby used the Fastback body style for the GT500 in the late 60s. I may have confused the GT350 in '65.

What I probably was trying to say was to convert a Fastback into a GT500 clone. Is this possible? Any advice would help. Thanks

What Starfury means is the 68 Mustang (or Shelby) and the 69 Mustang (or Shelby) were totally different from each other, because of the year. However, 68, 69, and 70 Shelbys were also offered as convertibles.

Conversion is no problem, many have been made, some so well done you'd have to check the VIN to be sure.

Note also that it was the 67 and 68 years where the body styles were pretty much the same. This was also true for the 65 and 66 years. The 69 was a breed of its own leading into the early 70s cars.

The 70 shelby was left over 69 cars. Why not look at a 67 Shelby i like the front end better then a 68 it looks more stock. It depends how deep you want to go to look like one is easy some make it a shelby all but for the vin that gets pricey.Everything you will need http://www.cobranda.com/index.html has but if you want to be different http://www.ringbrothers.com/products...?product_id=45 and more pictures http://www.ringbrothers.com/projects/reactor/ but that will fit 67/68 only tho.

You could just buy your choice of body brand-new from Dynacorn, and build whatever you want:
