Also, the Ford cylinder order is as listed at the bottom of Thumpin's post 1234 on the passenger side and 5678 on the driver's side. It was probably right to begin with.

Another "point of confusion" on Ford vs. Chevy firing order is that Chevy distributors turn clockwise, Ford counter-clockwise...

So, sometimes it is lost in translation (from Chevy to Ford language) that the firing order goes counterclockwise around the distributor...

Another point of confusion can arrise when a late 302 cam is used in a 289.... this will create a 289 with a late 302 firing order...

JMD is correct. when i rebuilt my engine i could not get it to fire up. then i realized that the cam i selected had a new model firing order.
