seat side shields

Were these shields stock on all 64-66 cars or were they an option? My car has them but I was thinking of just using the seat hinge covers as an alternative. Any insight appreciated.

Do you have a picture of what your talking about? My seats only have a small black hinge cover on the inside and an aluminum or stainless peice on the outside of each seat.
