For some reason i got it to run but to find the problem i pulled the choke again and the engine cut off. everytime i pull the choke now the engine shuts off. what could be doing this?

it runs great when its warm?
it runs okay (cold engine) when the choke is not pulled?
when was the last time it worked fine using the choke to start it and have you changed your choke procedure any?

It sounds like you're pulling the choke too far and cutting air to the engine and/or high idle is not set or not set properly.

yah i don't get either what you're doing here exactly
you pull the choke to start car when it started you adjust the choke so it runs properly
when the engine is warm you don't need the choke anymore and can push it right in to switch it off. you never use it again until you start a cold engine. so when exactly is it cutting off?
as well remove the aircleaner and push the choke fully in,. the top butterfly in carb should be fully open. and when you pull on the choke it should close. when it fully closes you pulled to far for running
this is not a technical explanation and there is way more to it, but maybe the basics will help you to explain the problem to us
the choke is not to warm up the engine it is to make the air fuel mixture fatter so the car will run when cold. a warm engine is run without it

When the car has been sitting over night I use the choke to warm it. Now when I pull the choke there is no airflow to the car. If the engine is running and I pull the choke all the way it will shut off

Its warm outside unless you live in Kaktovik Alaska, you shouldnt need a choke as much in warm weather. The choke is to richen the mixture for cold starts, if it isnt cold you dont need the choke. If the engine is warm and you pull the choke, then the engine dies, the choke is working. Its a very simple flap and cable with minimal moving parts, so they usually work.

Im in Ca and my car starts best today (90F out) with choke at 20% closed as soon as I get the car moving down the street I set choke to 0% closed (full open) and that's that.

Press the pedal to the floor once or twice then pull just a bit of choke, start the car and apply a bit of throttle say 1,000 rpms and hold that for 10 seconds back off put car in gear, drive off set choke to 0%
