Default Regular or High Heat primer 4 engine compartment?

I have high heat black engine enamel and kinda got carried away and stripped the engine compartment all the way to the bare metal, completely. Can it be painted with Dupli-color engine enamel without primer on raw metal or am I going to have to prime it. The can doesn't say, but I would assume it would have to be primed. Can I use regular car primer or do I need to get some type of hi-temp engine primer?
One automotive primer I have says not to exceed 200 degrees F. Does the engine compartment reach this temp or would the primer peel off even with a high-temp topcoat enamel. I assume if the area reaches 200F, then it will bubble or peel (or burn off). Does the engine compartment get this high? (not talking about painting engine parts, I know they get hotter.)
Thanks for the advice.

For the engine compartment (aprons, frame rails, fire wall, etc.), you do not need high temp paint. Engine itself, manifolds, etc. do. Primer first.
