Default Brakes

So I Took it out on the road for the first time (legally) today and the brake light came on, they were definetly not working as well.
Got home checked the master cylinder and it was Really low, so I topped it off to 1/4" below the top of the cylinder.

Then I took it around the block pumping the brakes and when I got home it Appeared to be at the same level, if it wasnt then it didnt lose much at all. Any Ideas what to try next?

did the pedal ever feel like it went down at all? you should have a pretty high pedal...it could be just a short...

The brake light goes on when you have a difference in pressure between the front and rear braking systems. This is caused by a leak. Start inspecting the brake lines until you find a wet spot. If there are no lines leaking, you need to pull the drums off and check the wheel cylinders.

Do not drive the car in this condition.

Alright, Checked the front discs, couldnt find any leaks. Pulled the rear drums and on one side the spring adujuster to space the calipers fell out. After replacing this I continued looking for leaks and couldnt find any on either side.

So I guess I'm asking if there are any other easy ways to look for leaks or anything else i should check?

Was there any wetness in the rear drums on or near the wheel cylinders? If not, adjust the rear shoes and reinstall the drums. Have someone step on the brake pedal while you check all of the brake line fittings and hoses looking for leaks.

It's also possible the m/c is bypassing internally. The fix for this would be to replace the m/c.

No wetness at all. The wheel cylinder looks fine, the rubber boots look fine as well.

No change in the pedal though. I guess I'll try bleeding the rear drums and see what happens.
