Default AOD tv cable adjustment

When I'm driving the transmission doesnt want to shift and the engine just keeps winding up until I let off the gas then it shifts, but it shifts real hard. Does this mean I have the cable too tight or too loose?

It's too loose. This might help in the adjustment:

I know a little about SETTING Tv cables on 770R4's (GM SORRY) but not much about AODs

What I do know is that if you set it wrong, you stand a real good chance of smoking your tranny RIGHT NOW...

Educate yourself really well on the process and GEOMETRY of the linkage, OR get a pro to to do it.

Don't take this lightly, I have smoked a 700R4 taking the TV cable SETTING lightly, and I have seen a few others smoked even after I warned some folks....

BTW, unless you did not get it yet.... a TV cable is NEVER adjusted, it is ALWAYS set.

"Adjustment" implies tinkering is ok,,,, SETTING implies a strict PROCEDURE... and you need to follow a proven procedure.

your best bet is to hook an oil pressure gauge to it. this will hook to the test port on the passager side. you will see to 1/8'' npt plugs. it will be the top plug. when hooked up you want to have pressure set at 0-5psi at idle in neutral with warm. as soon as you give gas it should rise. at cruise you want it between 30-35psi and at wot around 85. i hope this helps.
