You mean the bushing is still stuck up inside the frame rail in the car? Or in the eye of the leaf spring? Or both?

the bushings are stuck in that metal tube in the frame rail. It's such a pain to get them out

oh man, i feel your pain here. when i did my leafs this was the single biggest headache of the whole job. i thought i could get the whole job done in one afternoon, but after 2 hours and much cussing i gave up on the rubber in the upper tube, i was so pissed.

the next day when i went back to it, i still was not making much headway. went back into the house, grabbed a steak knife and started sawing away, and after another hour or so i had them both out.

i dont have much advice other than just to keep at it, it will give eventually.

Some carefully applied heat can help as well. Watch out though the bushings burn and don't forget about the gas tank.

Be careful and be persistent they will come out.

Bushings are being replaced? Just rip them out however is easiest.

Thinking about tackling the front springs when i finish this pizza here, anything i should know...

EDIT: Also, would anyone happen to know the torque numbers for the U-bolts?
