I have been going crazy trying to put together a rear end. It is becoming more difficult than building my motor. I think one of the main reasons is because when i built the engine i was making cash. now i am just getting by. im not sure of the best way to go.
DAMN!

I've seen a vendor on eBay that sells a complete 3rd member with trac-loc and your choice of gears already set up. IIRC it was $700-800 for the whole thing.

While that's a lot of $, I may get one of them when I get mine on the road. That way I can switch between my 2.79 open for highway use, then put the one with trac-loc and 3.89's for the street.

Of course, every plan I make usually changes 2-3 times before the time comes.....

Hmmm...that looks like he has some customer service issues. I guess if you're willing to wait 2 months to receive your 3rd member then it's worth the price. $559 + $50 shipping AND you'll have to pay another $50 to get your 3rd member to him for a core, now you've hit $659, I'd almost rather pay someone $750 for a quicker turn around and keep my other 3rd member as a spare.
They're relatively easy to rebuild, setting the crush sleeve was the biggest pain. I also got lucky when setting my backlash, only took me two adjustments to hit the sweet spot.
