Default installed PROPER fuel pump and regulator

I couldn't listen to the summit electronic fuel pump one more day. the noise it made drove me bananas. Bought the Holley 125 for lots of money, installed a regulator ( i should be shot for not putting in one earlier). now i have constant fuel pressure, no noise, no misbehaving. successful last night
If the weather gets better I'll try to see if I can floor it through the gears without starving for petrol doing that.
I usually don't say bad things about products, but that summit on was made in the 7th circle of hell. anyways, things are coming together.
I'll go out later for another testdrive to get a new basline for tuning

In my experience most all Summit branded products are pretty good, but the "Holley look-alike" pump we installed on my son's truck was ****...

It looked a all but identical to the Holley pump, but it was really noisy, and didn't last....

JMD: that's the one. I have no words for it.
I am very pleased now. i have constant fuel pressure at all times.
when I floor it through 3 gears I'm not starving for fuel anymore. the ca just drives like a normal car now.
I was thinking about putting the holley (570) back in but I scratched the idea for the moment as i'm well pleased with the way its driving in traffic. two or 3 minor adjustments and I'll have it as good as it'll ever get. maybe next year I'll get myself a demon 575 doublepumper :-)
again thanks all for your help!

I had a replacement in-tank pump on a truck one time and that was the noisiest pump I've ever heard... Needless to say I dropped the tank in the driveway again and took it back to the parts store.

That's why I stay mechanical, no wiring to worry about, no relays....and NO NOISE!!! Well, not from the pump at least.

And if you plan on getting a new carb, got with a 650 Quick Fuel annular double pumper. It's a MUCH more flexible carburetor in terms of tuning.

the engine I bought had no excenter on cam. So i had two options. Electronic fuel pump or install excenter. I believed the electronic pump was the easier option .. little did I know :-] anyway it's good now.
I'll check on those quick fuels as well sure. hear great things about them. I was just thinking Demon because you can get 'cheap' rebuilt ones.
67m302: oh and I installed a set of autolite 25 sparkers last night, got rid of the snazzy unreadable ones. although I can now clearly see the lower fuel circle.

Yeah, I dunno if I'd want to pull a timing cover that wasn't leaking to install the eccentric...unless I were doing a custom cam swap maybe.

And yeah, the basic Autolite copper cores are open enough that if you look carefully you can see the fuel ring.
