Default Goodbye to my 65 or the effects of a 55mph crash on a classic pony.

My 65 coupe is no more. A woman ran a stop sign right in front of me and I hit her running about 55mph. This happened only 2 days after finishing my car and I feel like Ive lost a member of the family. I truly loved this pony and had spent so many long hours with the restoration. It only had 69K miles on the odometer on the day I lost it. Of course the lady that caused the accident had no insurance so Im left footing the bill for my car. Hopefully my liability insurance will pay my hospital bills and the helicopter ride to get me there but who knows. This happened almost 4 weeks ago and Im just now able to get out and about again.
I feel like crying everytime I look at my car. Theres still alot of usable parts left so I may buy another 65 and use this one for a donor but I just cant imagine dis-assembling something I have this much work in. Who knows, maybe I'll feel differently as time goes by.

reading this post is like reliving my experience all over again. i too had an accident that shouldn't have happened. guy cut me off for no reason (found out later he did it just to do it), brakes locked up, spun around and hit the back of him going 70. this was after i had just finished the car too. the car i speak of is the one in my avatar and pic. cried whenever i looked at it, but in due time my brother found a rear clip for me and we cut out the old, welded in the new. little by little we fixed it back to normal again. better in my opinion. took us 4 months to get it back to shape solely because i could not stand to go off to college and leave it in the condition it was. finished the day before move in at college. glad to hear your ok, but there is hope. this is life. sometimes it's sweet, other times it sucks.

It was barely towable. I dont think there's any hope for fixing this one. I tried to post pic's with photobucket but still cant get it to work. It must be something Im doing wrong. maybe I can post a link to the album.

Sorry..its totaled.

She may not have insurance but you do and it will cover your bills.
She will have assets that a good lawyer can claim for you as well.
