New here!!
Welcome. It's good to have some more 6 cylinder people here.
Your husband is a lucky guy. 2 1/2 years later my wife still has never even been for a ride in my baby, probably couldn't tell you what year she is, and after passing her in the garage ever day might be able to tell you what color she is.
If you haven't yet pick up a paperback version of the Shop Manual. I would stay away from the CD Version. The paperback will run about $40 and is invaluable.

That is a sweet looking Stang. Good luck with the carb they can be very difficult as was stated by a previous poster. Sometimes they are just worn out. My son built up a '66 coupe once and went through about a half dozen rebuilds before he got one that would idle smooth. Going larger on the exhaust diameter is also a good idea. My son even had duals added on his by splitting the headpipe just past the manifold. Really does help in getting the heat out of the engine. If interested in a story about it check here: The Muskrat. I helped with the build and it was a lot of fun.

Thanks Dad
I think im the lucky one for him buying it for me. Its a shame your wife isnt more into the mustang. I have noticed the 6 cylinder people are few and far between on here. Ive got the chiltons manual if that is what you are referring to. Oh i have the original unopened owners manual, trying to find one on ebay that i can actually look at just so i can see what it looks like.

Ive got the rebuild kit already lol. Guess time will tell how many i go trough before it works properly.
Thanks for welcoming me everyone!!!

The I6 is a fun engine, but doesn't produce enough HP. Plus if I was to buy a aluminum head and headers for it, I could have my 331 stroker built for around the same price.I decided to quit driving it saturday and start working on it. Body work is fun to do.
The engine is on the list of things to do. Still won't be until March or April so I have maybe 1-2 months left of enjoying it before it sits. Saturday was its last day out of the neighborhood for a couple more weeks. Then it will be at 1 last show as a 6cyl.
I might have another six by next summer. Won't be a mustang, but it will have a 6cyl engine

I know I'd love to have a 331 stroker... but I'd get a 5.0 fox or sn95 for that.
But another six is fine... as long as it is a ford inline-6. Then maybe I'll let you stay in the social group you created

But really, I find my six very enjoyable especially since it has a 3 spd manual transmission. The extreme torque is pretty cool
