Default Which Mustang is this?

Hi,

I came across an abandoned Mustang in a scrapyard in the middle of nowhere. I have been searching for a Mustang for a while now and now that I found it, I would like to know what model it is. The guy at the scrapyard says it's a '67 coupe, is that the case? The coupe part is obvious as it has two doors but does the year look right? The part that puzzles me is the rear, it is not a fastback as it has a shorter window but it does not look like all the other coupe's I've seen on the internet either. The rear body panels kinda slopes backward from the roof towards the back. I am in South Africa and maybe the shape was a bit different than the ones in the States?

Here is the photos:

Your help will be greatly appreciated

That is because it is not a 67. I am not good at my later year mustangs but search 69, 70 and 71.

It's a 71-73 coupe, i would say '71 because of the chrome bumpers front and back.
Find the VIN or door data plate.

Thanks for the info, even if it's a '71-73 it should still be worth some money when its fully restored shouldn't it? I was thinking of putting a 351 or 429 in there.

That is a '71. You can tell by the plastic under the rear bumper. There isnt a cutout for the exhaust. If it were a '72 or 3 I think there would be two cutouts for exhaust pipes..

71-73's are becoming more popular. I doubt they will ever be worth more than a 65-68. If you are trying to do this as an investment don't. You will never get out of it what you put into it. You will lose less money if you just drive down the road and throw dollar bills out the window.
Take your time and find the year and body style you like. Then fix it up yourself to enjoy.

Only the 71 BOSS 351 and 71-73 mach1 with 351 4V had the dual exhaust with cutouts.

The car is a 71 or 72 coupe, which were almost identical. The 73 had the rear bumper mounted on extended brackets and a positively HUGE painted front bumper.

I'd say 72. I don't see the holes for the MUSTANG lettering across the width of the decklid.
