8.8's are pretty strong and for the money a explorer swap is easy cheap and a good choice...PERIOD! Al lot going for these rear ends so just do it your self!

Bought a very nice clean rust free 66 Convertible....also bought a nice 2000 Explorer 2wd 3:73 Posi-traction rear end. I am going to install the complete drive train, eng, trans, rear end and keep all the explorer accessories and belt drive system. Doing a complete rebuild of engine and transmission with only minor mods, headers, stock explorer wiring harness, borgenson P/S box, might add a very mild camshaft, Little head work, power coat intake and brackets. Already have a ecm flashed to eliminate the pats and other systems not needed..Retain the obs port. I've done all this before to a 1954 Ford 8 years ago and it's performed great with no issues at all. I'll install the fuel pump in the tank and run all new fuel lines. Already added power disc brakes so now it will have 4 wheel disc. FYI I am going to pull out the 66's complete running gear and sell complete. Nothing wrong with it runs fine 289 2V C6 w/ A/C and P/S and Alt. Complete running $1500 if interested for a complete drop in for the Mustangs,Comets,Falcons......
