Photo of 170-200 oil pan?
Does anyone already have or can someone with a 1964-1970 170-200CI post a picture of the front/middle bottom of their oil pan (where the oil pump is positioned)? I would really appreciate it! A front shot and possibly a front angle shot of the very bottom are what I need.
I finally got mine off, removed years of deposits and crud. So I am going to remove the outer rust, level the top and prep to paint. But it looks like someone may have dented it in a few areas in the front, then did a half assed job to hammer out the dents. Then maybe hammered them back in to get the bars back on. The very bottom is rounded like bowl with areas pressed back up, right at the oil pickup tube. So I would like to correct the shape and remove all the dings before I proceed. (a ring from the pickup tube/screen showed in the crud, so it may be too close to the bottom!)
It's got the basic shape and it works, I just need to see where all the flat areas in the front and bottom really are and sharpen the lines. Especially since that is where the oil pick-up tube goes.
I don't need a new one (not at $250 for Ford Tooling, $150 aftermarket), not when this one will be just as good as new. If I have a couple pictures from different angles. Thanks so much, it would really help!
