Default 18MPG woheeee

Hi all,

on the weekend i drove for about 250 miles and had ~18mpg on the way to a car show, and nearly 19 on the way back.
90% of it was motorway, but **** it, I'm happy out with that :-)

must admit though that i just 'drove' the car instead of flooring it after every stop. only at toll stations :-) average speed on motorway was 75mph

That is pretty damn good for a 75 mph average.

For the price of gas over there, I am sure every bit helps.

18mpg not bad..

I just drove my 73 Mustang 351c (340HP) almost 200 miles a few days back.. most of it was expressway and I got about 15mpg.. was trying to hold around 70-75mph which puts me in the range of 3300rpm.

was delighted. Some nearly had to pay twice for the petrol

i have a T5 and 3.5:1 gearing on something like 25.6" tall tyres. so in 5th i drive 75mph with about 2300rpm ... that surely makes a difference

Thats cool Kalli! I get about the same with a little mild hot rodding. Of course I have a nearly identicle setup as you do.

Usually my weekend cruises etc are trips on the highway of about 20-30 miles to a small car show. So, alot of my cars driving is highway too.

anywhere between 14.3 and 15.3, which is way on the lean side. I am going to put in a bigger jet this week as i have part throttle accelleration bogging. I'll up 2 jet sizes (for the lack of 1 jet size). but I expect the results to be very similar afterwards

if the jet size you are going with is .002 smaller than what you have now you would be looking at .5 to .75 drop in reading im guessing so you would be looking at A/F 13.6 to 14.6 ish....That's about what im pulling at freeway speed.
