Default BB motor mount and crossmember ?'s

My restoration of a '68 fastback continues. I have for it a 428 + C6 tranny. I need to figure out what I need to install the engine and trans. The engine has mounts and isolators mounted to it however I am not sure if they are the ones I need. I am not even sure what the engine came out of (although it was a Merc.).

I don't have any frame mounts on the car. I see the BB ones go for big bucks, however the SB ones look identical and are alot more plentiful on Ebay. Is it just a matter of drilling new holes on the SB ones to install the big block?

Now the C6 crossmembers seem to fetch alot aswell while the C4 ones go dirt cheap. I know the C6 ones have a triangular shape from the pictures I've seen. What is the reason for that? Can I modify a C4 member to work?

Any insight is much apperciated.

Mike
