Default Ignition Switch Problems

How do you remove the ignition switch on a 68 coupe without a bezel removal tool? I have a shorted or broken wire on the back and I have to get it out to fix it.

two screw drivers pushing in opposite directions to loosen it up. Or a pair of needle nose pliers opened up all the way and stuck into the groves

I got it out. On a 68 the darn bezel unscrews from the switch and every manual and written instructions I came across said it is spring loaded. Turns out the plug on the back was broken and partially melted and there were bad wire splices everywhere. I ordered a brand new plug off ebay.
