Default Bought another one! Rusty 66 vert

I just could not resist. Picked it up for $3000. Needs frame rails and floorboards. Had not run in 12 years but I figured it was worth it. C Code, automatic, power steering, power top. I'm not sure there is even one panel on the car that can be saved but it is a complete car.

At least it appears it was covered for a while. That's a positive sign in my opinion.

Nice pick up!!

Being covered means the interior may be in decent shape

The interior will be a complete redo also. The dash pad is cracked badly and looks like the Sahara desert. The PO said the engine smoked when she parked it 12 years ago. Maybe I will get lucky and the transmission and rearend will be ok. What a pig it was to move. There must be some brakes dragging on it.

Definitely a project, but I love those old convertibles.

Nice find!

Thanks, I don't think I stole it but I think it was worth the $3k. It will be interesting to get the interior stripped out and see what the damage is. I hope it is not much more than I can see now.

I'd love to see more pics of it the way it is if possible

Since I don't have room in the garage for it I'm going to keep it in the trailer for now. Next week I'm going to try to clean it out and get a better assessment of it and I can post some pictures then.

Dug all the crap out of the vert today and got a look at the damage. Not too bad. The trunk floors look usable. It will need one quarter for sure and at least a patch on the other. Both doors had speaker holes cut on the inside so new doors are needed. Someone riveted sheetmetal in the floors so it will need all new floors and the frame rails are rusty so they will need replaced. I still need to look at the torque boxes to see how those are. Over all I'm pretty encouraged. It is not as bad as I figured.
