I took the rest of my front suspension apart today and noticed that the rubber boots on the outer tie rods are destroyed on both sides of the car. I see that new stock outer tie rods are about $35/ea. I was just wondering if anyone was using the Baer Tracker kit on their car. It is right around $160 and is supposed to help out with bumpsteer. I want to know if the kit is worth the extra $$$. Thanks everyone!
I don't find it necessary on my car. I have 1" drop coils and the Shelby drop and I get minimal bump steer. As long as I'm holding onto the wheel, I'm fine.
I am mainly looking at them to eliminate the original style rubber grease boot and replace it with a spherical bearing. I think I might give them a try.
nope iirc theres a bolt on bumpsteer kit and its probably cheaper
If you are talking about the Pro-Motorsports kit then it is more expensive, I think between $240-$270 depending where you get it, but then you have to retain the stock style outer tie rods which would put him back in the same place with torn boots.
I don't think the Baer kit is necessary but I have heard from many people that they are very happy with theirs. I say go for it. No more outer boots to worry about.
I use the baer trackers on my 65 with lower suspension and 245 40 17 tires in the front. There was a noticeable improvement in the bump steer in the car and I am very happy with them.
