Default better brakes?

I just bought a 69 mach1 so Ill have plenty of questions for you all. It has front manual disc brakes but the pedal barly moves and it doesnt have much stopping power at all. Is there a low $ improvement?

I converted from manual front drums to disks, a big improvement. Not on par with a new car though. You could upgrade to power disks...but have you even inspected your rotors and pads yet?

No I havent I just got it but I didnt think the pedal should be solid as a rock. It barely moves. It wont even powerbrake and it has tons of power.

Safety first...inspect and bleed all your brakes, then check the pedal pressure.
