it would take quite a while to run a solid bead all around ur floor pans. just drill 1/4" holes and weld them up. Be sure to use solid wire with shielding gas as flux core doesnt look as good and makes for more grinding. im in the middle of doing my floor pans. use self drilling screws to put them in place and just take your time. And by the off chance that you ever have to remove the floor pans again just imagine the time to undo a solid bead

The floor pans are part of the cars frame and strength, your forgetting that solid bead welding the floor pans is giving the structural integrity the car had originally, just spot welding them will not be strong enough and give the cars it's structural integrity back.

I try to replicate the original part. If I'm butt or lap-welding a part in, it gets a full bead. if it was spot welded, it gets rosette welded.

rosette welds aren't much easier to remove than a full bead. and you shouldn't be welding in something thinking you might need to remove it again. welding is the last 10% in replacing a panel.

right and since the floor pans were originally spot welded then that should be all thats needed unless ur keeping part of the original or just doing a patch panel then i agree a full bead is needed.
