Dynomax Mufflers
Not on the stang since it is a bare shell, but I have some under one of my Firebirds. They are the 3.5" bullet mufflers and they take the harsh off open headers. Its a bit more than most of the stangs on the site, but if you want to hear it here ya go.

I'm running Flowmaster Hushpower II's (now sold as Hushpower HP-2's). They're expensive, but they sound amazing. If you listen to the clip on the website, that's almost exactly what my car sounds like.
Idle is a mellow 50's tone, cruising is a nice even but aggressive tone, and WOT makes your skin tingle. No raspiness, no blattiness.

I swapped from Midas Super Turbo mufflers to these a few years ago and I have zero complaints. The turbos sounded ok but raspy at idle, made almost no noise while cruising, and sounded good at WOT until 3k when they became tinny and raspy, a la glasspacks. The Hushpowers have a better tone under all conditions, are audible while cruising without being obnoxious, and they sound absolutely wicked at WOT. At 6k rpm, it's an ungodly sound

Unfortunately, they're cost-prohibitive for a lot of people. I only have them because a bunch of my friends pitched in for a pair for my birthday a few years back.
Thats cool. I'm glad you like them. They do cost about twice what I would spend on mufflers. I don't know anyone that has them, so I have never heard them in person, at least that I know of.
I think the Dynomax Ultras are priced right and they are stainless as well as have a lifetime warranty.

Its a bit louder than I prefer on anything but that car.
Really on video it sounds almost the same open headers or mufflers, in person it doesnt hurt as much with the mufflers. Tail pipes make a huge difference in how the car sounds too, and how much noise you get inside the car. If they go all the way out the back, you get less sound inside the car, if they end under the car like my video, well you can barely hear yourself think. Also you can go with a smaller diameter tail pipe after the muffler and not lose power, provided it isnt too small. A 2.5" system is plenty for most small Fords.

I've got 2.5 inch exhaust on the car already with full tailpipes out the back. Yeah, I know having turndowns is louder inside. I had my F150 like that for a little while, but went ahead and put pipes on it.
I just got the Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers installed today. Man they sound great... much better than the Flow 40's. The outside sound is about the same volume, but just a tad queiter at idle. I haven't heard the car drive off yet. Inside the car you can actually hear yourself think but still hear the exhaust. I would recommend them over the Flows with out a doubt. I think they are perfect for my car.
man that was quick. when I think new mufflers I have to check websites, ship them over the pond and then i probvably look at them for two weeks before I get to install them *g*
any chance you can make a video of them. I'm well interested to hear. especially outside idling/reving/taking off (without wheel spin if possible) ...
