I've always gone by the RT method too, when I was younger the RT point was usually reached when my ***** began to lift.

I use late model wheels so I torque them to 100 lbs, which is what the 2005 Mustang owner's manual says (http://www.allfordmustangs.com/techa...5MustangOM.pdf page 125). I figure Ford is a pretty reliable source for torque specs ;-).

I have never put a torque wrench on any lug nut on ANY car I own.....

I just tighten the **** out of them till they feel right and call it good....

Never broken a stud, stripped a nut, or lost a wheel (in context, I did loose one that I never did tighten at all once, oops...)

In fact, I never saw a torque wrench used on a wheel before about 10 years ago, and even now, it is mostly the mega discount tire stores that I see them in.
