are these the dreaded '67 only v8 mounts? i bought them on ebay - they were labeled '66-'68 but they don't work. the motor mounts are from a '68.

No. The height and angle is wrong. The 67 requires the C7ZA (2286), while the 68 uses the C6OA (2257). Many sellers on the internet, especially eBay, claim to have the 2286. They don't. Sometimes the box even says 2286 on it, but the part inside is a 2257. The 68-70 convertible uses the 2286, as does the 70 BOSS 302.

You can get the 2286 from Glazier Nolan, or you can modify your brackets to accept the 2257.

Yeah, and that's the problem. The 66 and 67 look the same, but they'll sell you the 66 type, and when you can't get them to fit right in a 67 with a crowbar and slegehammer you'll discover there's about a 1/2" height difference and 15° difference. Good luck with that.

Like I said, either buy the 67 type from GN, or modify your brackets to use the common type.

i know the motor mounts are from a '68. they still have the ford C8xx number (or C6xx hard to tell) on them and I know the car they came from.

the brackets - they're definitely '67 style?

I went through the same thing. I could never find any mounts that actually fit. I bit the bullet and bought the Ron Morris adjustable mounts. They were really easy to install. In the end, I wish I had just spent the money in the beginning and not messed with trying to find the original mounts.

Yep.

You can either re-drill them for the common mounts, or get 67 style mounts from Glazier Nolan.

thanks. i've found that pic a couple of times before - i just wish it had dimensions. I'm definitely not above modifying the mount. and i'd like to be able to use the cheaper common style mounts going forward.

I guess I could figure out the dimensions by drawing an arc from the lower hole and guessing on where it should go in relation to the original upper hole.

It doesn't need dimensions- if you print it out, actual size, it's a template.
