WAAAAAY too much trans fluid....
I posted a thread about 2 weeks ago about how my 65 was pouring out trans fluid. It ended up leaking out of an overflow port because there was way too much transmission fluid in it. BTW this is all because of the previous owner. I just bought the car about 2 weeks ago. So in the mean time there was also a radiator problem so I just got that fixed today. I took it out for a test drive and when I drive above 50-55mph white smoke comes out from the rear of the car. The tires have air and the brakes seem to work fine. There doesnt seem to be any noticeable problem when Im driving it at 55+. I took the car home and noticed some red fluid on the rear resonator and some on the exhaust pipes. I also checked the trans fluid and its on the "t" in "between" on "do not fill if between the two arrows". In other words there is waaay too much trans fluid in the question.
bottom line: Will too much trans fluid cause any problems?
I am thinking the fluid is still overflowing a little and burning on the exhaust. I will drain some of the fluid out tomorrow anyways.

Hope the white smoke is the tranny fluid on the exhaust and not a blown head gasket. unless you have a small manual pump, just loosen the pan bolts a little to get the extra fluid out. Brake cleaner will help you clean up the mess.
get a cheap siphon and run it down the fill tube and suck out the excess....
also when messing with these old cars they use Type F fluid i know a lot of parts places will try to talk you out of using it....
also if you dont know when the last time the fluid was changed id pull the pan and drain the torque converter....

if the previous owner was a muppet he filled the tranmission with the car switched off.
That'll cause exactly that.
drain the lot and refill to spexcs and hope you don't have blown any gaskets or else in the transmission you might just be lucky
