Default Hand Brake

I'm just curious, have any of you guys tried doing a hand brake conversion? I wonder if it can be pulled from the foxbody mustangs or something?

Who needs an ebrake anyway...

I wish I had mine still, I took it out when I put the new rear end.

I've seen it done, but somehow it always looks bogus.

I've got it installed on the hump between the bucket sets. Pretty easy install and one of the only things that didn't fight me lol. No finish chrome trim in this pic and lots that still needs to get finished however here is what it looks like with the Lokar hand e-brake installed.

I have a handle from an 87 Fox Mustang. It doesn't have enough pull to lock up the brakes on my Explorer rear end. It's also in the way. I'll probably go back to the under dash handle if I can figure out some cabling for the Explorer brakes.

Yes. The problem is the geomety of the handle. The Explorer brakes require more pull than the Fox handle is designed to provide. I may find another handle but I'd like a console and the handle is in the way .

I installed a fox model hand brake on the hump. I am not really happy with the adjustment of the cables under the car. I followed Daze's write up. http://dazed.home.bresnan.net/e-brake

I plan on doing it over and using the Lokar set up and cables. Here is an excellent write up. You may have to join the forum to read it but it is well worth it: http://www.gearheadtalk.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=21165

Lokar handbrake has the cable ends for the Explorer brakes and it works well.
