I asked before I had them do my driveshaft. Then don't make a hybrid u-joint like that.

A mustang should have 2 different driveshaft sizes and 2 different u-joints. I6 and V8. I tried mine out and it was way too small for the 8in. Something about yours is different than mine were. Either the driveshaft or rear end.

Guys,
Thanks for the information. I will get out the calipers and take some measurements from the 8" rear end. I don't think the new one even has caps on the yoke, so I will need to get those too. Anything I need to be aware of before I install this rear end? I am totally rebuilding the drum brakes, and haven't noticed any leaks or grease spots on it so I assume the seals are still good.
Thanks again,
Gordon

looking through the parts listing, it looks like the 289 and the auto 200 both used the same 1310 "special" (unequal) u joints. I'm not really sure what the I6 manual trans U joint is. It's tiny.

That explains a lot. Yeah I was told my u-joints were inner clip ones. Which were similar to the 1210 u-joint.

Same here with my 67. I also have a C4, which is consistent with Jcoby's statement.
