If you opt for no seats, the floor contour is, shall; we say, somewhat uneven. What are you considering with respect to finishing that area off? I can't tell how much the mpcustom panels cover.

Ill most likely do some stereo items there, in addition to maybe some other basic electronics...possibly just a clean twin-sub enclosure blended with those MP panels...

I pondered that thought, but the car will be undergoing SO SO much fabrication as it is...that back seats are literally taking a back seat to everything else...

I think its gonna be the MP panels with a basic subtle speaker enclosure molded in.

if you are going with newer seats, what about a newer rear "bucket-bench." i put 2008 mustang gt seats in my car and the rear bucket bench (bench with the *** grooves) sits about 2 inches shorter on each side than the stock seat. so if you are only tubbing it 2 inches on each side, that would take up the gap and your back seats will match your modern front seats. just a thought. that seat delete with 2 12" subs cut out in it is catching my eye though.....

Thanks guys...I would consider the newer rear seats for sure..but that stil leaves me with rear seats...which means people would want rides....I think Im MUCH more at the point where I want just me and the wife cruisin around...or the 1 friend I have on a sunday...IT would prob be two 10" subs though haha .

I hear that. people who dont drive have NO respect for other peoples cars. i keep going back and fourth on taking out the seat i would just hate to see those 2 girls on the side of the road on the way to the beach and have no backseat though!

I am in a similar situation, and my thoughts may give you a compromise for the girls in Bikinis... I have a 66 coupe and was wondering what it would take to put a fastback fold down back seat in place of my stock seat. It looks good now, and I need a back seat most of the time for my 2 kids, but I think the fold down of the fastback would really come in handy...
You could cruise around with the back seat folded down normally and non-car buffs would never know there was really a seat there... But presented with the bikini scenario, voila!
Has anyone ever done this conversion? What does it take? Sorry for hijaking the thread...

At a minimum, you'd have to attach the latch mechanisms/catches.

A long time ago when my kids were little I was driving a Pinto with the fold-down rear seat. Unless the rear seat was being used to sit in, it was left in the 'down' position. Quieter that way.
