using a used rack and pinion
I doubt you can. You would need to check the sweep for both systems and the size of the tie rod ends. You have to figure out how and whereto mount it and connect it to the steering column. I hope you have a killer set of tools and some mad skills. You're gonna need'em.
Look at a unisteer manual rack and pinion unit for a low cost kit.

Pretty much all the ford R&P setups are about the same from what I've seen. Remanufactured units made by Atsco (for example) can be purchased through AutoZone for 165.00 through 225.00. Less about 75.00 if you have a core to exchange. Checkout Part# 6418 or 6491 for examples. If your looking for power then your also looking at a power steering pump, pulleys, fluid reservoir, hoses and fittings.
In order to mount them will take a lot of custom fabrication work. You can weld and have a good bit of welding experience right? It could be done. Check out other units like the Unisteer setup and brackets used. Something like this for example.

NO - You can't just mount a 77 mustang rack into a 67 because the 77 mustang is s "front steer" rack and the 67 is a rear steer car. What this means is that the tie rods attach to the spindle behind the axle on the 67 and in front on the 77. You would need different spindles, a way to mount the rack, would have to rig up tie rods, get a rear sump oil pan.....
YES - All of it has already been figuured out and there arre kits for it. The 77 mustang is the Mustang II, so it is all of the Mustang II suspension kits you read about. Like this one:

Just remembered.. someone here did post photos of them rigging up a R&P setup. Made custom brackets which got mounted to the bottom of the front frame rails behind the wheels.
Might want to search for that thread.
