Default Do 15x7 wheels rub?

I have 15" Torque Thrust wheels on my car right now, but I have no idea how wide they are because they came with the car. They are fairly pitted, so I've been shopping for some new wheels. I want either the styled steel wheel or the magnums in 15 inch. I recently came across something on one of the Mustang vendor's websites that said they didn't recommend 15x7 for the front because they rub. This is the first I'm hearing about that though. In fact, many vendors don't sell the 15x6, they only sell the 7 inch wide in a 15 inch diameter wheel. Can someone with 15x7 wheels verify they have no rubbing issues with their 66 coupe? Thanks!

15x7 wheels that have 3.75 backspacing with 215 60 15 tires are notorious for rubbing for a lot of people if they don't roll their fender lips. This is the size the TTd's come in. If you run a 15x7 wheel with 4.25 backspacing you will be fine.

You can refer to this chart when deciding on tires and wheels:

I have 205-70-15's on the front and 225-60-15's on the rear and I don't have any problems. with my 15 by 7 keystone classic wheels. But I'm going to buy the 15 by 6 styled steel wheels though

I have 15x7 with 4.25 backspacing and 215 60 15 tires and it is a great fit in the front. I have 1 inch lowering springs as well. There is no rubbing. Here is mine.

I have 225/60/15s with 4.25 bs on my 69 and no problems. Whatever you do don't try the modern mustang wheels on old mustangs. I tried them thinking I could save some money and they rub even with spacers.
