Default New engine start up

Fired up the new 347 yesterday. First motor I have ever built and it fired up first turn of the key.

Car sounds amazing Ill post a vid later today

bad news. . . small coolant leak dripping from passenger side oil pan and cannot see where it is coming from above that. Spent an hour under the car and cannot find it. Also the starter has a tuff time turning the flewplate. Im guessing its because the motor has more compression 10.9-1. do I upgrade the starter or get a battery with more cranking power?

any suggestions?

Make sure the timing cover bolts are tight enough as well, I've found that usually when I get coolant leaks on the front/side it's from around the timing cover.

and it's a good idea to get a high torque type starter, the smaller ones.

I cant see it coming anywhere from the front side...its just coming off the middle of the oil pan and i cant see where its dripping onto the pan...is it true a blacklight will help you see green coolant?

Ill look into the starter. what about battery?

might be coming out just between head and block and dripping down from there. it usally collects right in the middle. Seen that before.you'll have to have it perfectly clean to exactly see where it's coming from. all the best of luck that it's somethign easy!

Possibly an "outside" chance of a leaking freeze plug??..... Tough place to see with the motor mounts, exhaust, etc.

Let us know what you eventually find. Good luck!!
