I'm pretty sure the big block shock towers is the same as small block except that they have extra reinforcement that wraps around the shock tower, so you won't gain any room.

This is exactly it. The big block shock towers just have an extra beefy wrap near the base of the shock tower for reinforcement. They work great and won't crack because of this, but sadly they were only put on the BB cars and on all the cougars.

So if anything they will give you LESS room because of the extra 1/3" plate of steel at the bottom, however that reinforcment should hardly interfere with anything, it may be a slight problem with headers but nothing major.

The only true "big block" shock towers that are different are on the Boss 429 cars to accommodate the extra wide width of the motor.
As stated above the BB towers are the same on the regular cars with the exception of having added metal to make more stronger.

Having said that, I would ad that the Dyncorn 69-70 apron/rail/tower assemblies come with the big-block reinforced towers. It surprised me.
