Default Scott Drake emblems quality

Hi guys,

About 2 months ago I put brand new '289' pony emblems on my fenders. Already the black on the '289' is peeling off. Is this normal or did I just have bad luck and get a bad emblem?

The paint coming off after just 2 months seems rather crappy to me...

I bought a complete set of all the emblems made by Scott Drake from Virginia Classic for my '66. One of the fender Pony's had the red stripe stick to the packaging. They stood behind them and sent me a new one free of charge. I belive Scott Drake has a 100% guarentee, Contact them.

my sail panel emblems and hood scoop emblems are both scott drake I think and they are great quality. Contract Scott Drake if it's a problem, 2 months sounds way too soon for wear and tear on an emblem.

The only ones I complain about are my MUSTANG emblems for the trunk lid, the S and N didn't fit in pre-existing holes so I had to clip off the pins and put them on with 3M tape. Also some of the other letters were just difficult to get on

yep, the scott drake emblems suck big time. all the black paint is gone from the 289 lettering on both of mine. also, they dont come pre-contoured to lay flush on the fender, so you have to bend them yourself. sh!tty quality

Yep a definite +1 on that from me too. I had to bend them myself too. They come 100% straight while the fender obviously isn't.

I then attached them with 3M tape too rather than with the pins for a more snug/tight fit. It took me quite a while to get it right (looks really good besides the faded paint on them) so it annoys me quite a bit I'm gonna have to do it again.

Oh well....

I have some scott drake parts on my car and most are great. I will say that my fender emblems with the pony and the red white a blue stripes have an issue. The paint is already starting to come off of them. They are about a year old, but started doing this about 6 months ago. Does anyone know what color model paint or similar I can buy that will match?

I must say I'm not impressed either. The red and blue stripes faded on mine in 6 months. 95% of that time the car was in the garage!

I have the original ones that became faded so I just used the Testors model paint red (1103), white (1145), and blue (1110). Seemed to match well, but I thought they looked awesome when I was done. But then again fresh paint usually does that.

Thanks for the tip. I'll repaint mine soon, maybe this week.
